Reader essay.
Jesus, the apostles, and pizza | Image: Albyantoniazzi, Flickr
Since we started running our reader-essay series, we’ve featured a lot of pieces from writers who are grappling with their religion. From a Gen Z former atheist who has found Buddhism, to a Jewish reflection on the destruction of the temple, to a Christian reflecting on Christian nationalism. However, we haven’t included any perspectives to date from a person detailing what led them to doubt the faith they were brought up in. That changes with today’s piece from Gordon Hafslund, who reflected on the arguments that turned him away from Christianity after overhearing a Christian evangelist pitch in a pizza shop. You can read the full piece here.

Reader review.
In this section, we like to highlight reader comments that respond to our coverage from different angles. On the issue discussing the Supreme Court’s ruling on deportations under the Alien Enemies Act, two readers had an exchange about Kilmar Garcia’s case.
