We’re seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Development Representative to help us grow our revenue streams by assisting us in securing advertising partnerships for both our newsletter and podcast platforms. As a key member of our sales team, you’ll be responsible for generating leads, conducting outreach, and setting meetings to help us expand our reach and grow our business. We are looking for someone with sales experience or a strong willingness to learn, and who is eager to contribute to the growth of a startup in the fast-paced world of media and advertising.

Job Overview.

As the Sales Development Representative, you will play a critical role in scaling our business through targeted cold outreach, email campaigns, and effective use of sales software to generate and track leads for both our newsletter and podcast advertising opportunities. You’ll work closely with the Sales Director to qualify leads, schedule meetings, and ensure smooth transitions into the sales pipeline. There is significant opportunity for growth within the sales team, including the potential to move into an Account Executive or leadership role as you gain experience and exceed targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct proactive outreach via email, LinkedIn, and sales software to generate new business for both newsletter and podcast ad placements.
  • Research and identify potential advertisers, developing and maintaining a pipeline of qualified leads.
  • Respond to inbound sales inquiries.
  • Manage leads in a CRM system, keeping accurate records and ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Schedule discovery calls/meetings with potential advertisers.
  • Work closely with the Sales Director to ensure smooth handover of qualified leads and assist in managing the sales pipeline.
  • Contribute to achieving and exceeding monthly and quarterly lead generation targets.
  • Support strategies to expand ad sales and revenue for both the newsletter and podcast.
  • Assist with copywriting and ensure the seamless delivery of digital media assets for sold ad placements.
  • Assist in creating compelling media advertising decks, marketing materials, rate cards, and other promotional assets.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Prior sales experience (B2B, cold calling, or lead generation), particularly in a digital media or adjacent sector.
  • Some experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Apollo etc) or a demonstrated ability to learn software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills — both written and verbal.
  • Basic design skills to help develop and refine engaging marketing assets and promotional materials is a plus.
